Please join NDSR Art for a webinar by Peggy Griesinger on A/V and Preservation Metadata.

This enrichment session will provide an overview of audiovisual and preservation metadata standards and their practical application in cultural heritage institutions. Attendees will receive a basic introduction to the PREMIS standard as well as a number of audiovisual metadata standards. Through a case study of the presenter’s NDSR-NY project at the Museum of Modern Art, attendees will learn methods for: identifying metadata requirements for a project, designing local metadata implementations based on community standards, and creating sustainable workflows for metadata production and management.

About the presenter: Peggy Griesinger is the Metadata Technologies Librarian at the University of Notre Dame, Hesburgh Libraries, where she works in collaboration with library colleagues to create, analyze, and transform standards-compliant metadata for library collections and other related projects. She was the 2014-2015 National Digital Stewardship Resident at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. She received her Master of Library Science from Indiana University in 2014, with a specialization in digital libraries.
